Injection safety to be explored in forthcoming embecta webinar

Healthcare professionals are invited to discover safe injection practices in an upcoming online event hosted by an established diabetes company.

embecta will provide diabetes teams with the current regulations in the UK surrounding Safer Sharps Devices during the webinar.

The hour-long online session will also explore the considerations when choosing a Safety Pen Needle.

A demonstration on the use of the Autoshield DuoTM Safety Pen Needle will also take place during the event.

Entitled ‘Advancing Care: Protecting HCPs in Practice’, the webinar will take place virtually on Thursday, May 18, between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.

The one-hour session will be split into two parts, with the first section providing a non-promotional educational session on the use of safety-engineered insulin delivery devices and evaluating current and evolving safety needs of healthcare professionals.

The second session is a promotional section exploring why safety legislation is in place, a demonstration on how to use the device and trouble shooting question and answers to close.

The webinar will be held during this year’s Insulin Safety Week – an annual campaign designed to educate nurses, doctors and other healthcare staff about insulin and the need to understand the drug and use it safely.

Insulin Safety Week 2023 is scheduled to take place in sites across the UK and Ireland between Monday, May 15, and Sunday, May 21.
