Diabetes inpatient specialists to lead new national campaign

Two diabetes professionals are launching an inpatient campaign next month to educate hospital teams caring for people with the condition.   

Basic inpatient diabetes knowledge will be available to healthcare professionals from May thanks to Dr Mayank Patel, Diabetes and Acute Medicine Consultant, and Paula Johnston, Lead Inpatient Diabetes Nurse.

The two experts will provide inpatient staff with a variety of resources on how to safely treat people with diabetes whilst they are in hospital.

The inpatient campaign, Start with the Diabasics, will go live on Thursday, May 4, during a launch event between 12.30pm and 2:30pm.
