Specialist nurses sought for Diabetes UK Professional Conference organising committee  

Diabetes specialist nurses are invited to join the Diabetes UK Professional Conference organising committee ahead of next year’s event.

Successful applicants will ensure that the national conference represents the diabetes specialist nursing profession. 

Using their expert insights, the new members will help to shape the annual conference each year.

Their role will be to help ensure the creation of a high-quality programme with a broad range of topics and a good mix of scientific and clinical care content.

The committee meets six times a year and members also mark the abstracts that are submitted to the conference to ensure the highest quality data, evidence and research is presented.  

The role includes:

  • Identifying and approaching speakers, facilitators and chairs

  • Leading on an abstract category, including marking and identifying a team of markers

  • Allocating abstracts into the programme along with identified chairs/judges.

  • Identifying successes and opportunities for improvement after the conference.

  • Support Diabetes UK in the strategic development of the conference and showcasing the organisation’s work.

The closing date for applications is Monday, June 3, 2024.
